Creation care week with Dave Bookless

12 September 2021 - 18 September 2021

Living hope for a wounded world

The Bible contains visions of a future era of hope and peace beyond tragedy and judgment. Jesus also taught us to pray for God’s kingdom to come on earth as in heaven. Yet, we live in an era of ecological disaster and fear, with predictions of disastrous climate change, loss of wildlife, plastic pollution and waste. In addition, many are in despair at economic, social and political trends which cause injustice, division and poverty.

  • What is the Bible’s message to today’s context?
  • How does caring for creation relate to the Gospel message?
  • Is the task of the church to prepare people for heaven, or to seek transformation here and now?
  • How can we live with hope, wonder and joy in a world of wounds?

We will explore God’s two books, the Christian scriptures and the beauty of God’s creation in the Domaine de Courmettes, as we reflect on our place in God’s world using our heads, our hearts and our hands.

Teaching will be in English with simultaneous translation in French.
